Growing Older Together
Together over 70 some odd years
We have been through a lot together
Our love held us up through it all
Good times Sad times always changing

Our family of four boys and girls survived
Most often through trial and error we went
Together Mom and I worked to help all
With much love and prayers we grew and learned

Each child had their own personality and quirks
So gently and at times roughly if need be we went
Our biggest lesson learned was this
Praise Loudly --- Correct Softly

As the years flew by we all stayed close
Our children all have children of their own now
Pa and I watch as our grown children bring up their children Carrying through on what they were taught as youngsters

Periodically our adult children come back to us with thanks
The biggest thing they say is how Pa and I taught them
To carry through on one special lesson for each child
