There Once Lived A Man

There once lived a man
Who fought for forgiveness and love
Who was nearly beat to death
Then from His hands He was hung
Tortured and nailed to a cross
But only words of forgiveness He sung
Flowing like a river of tears
Dropped from the ones that He loved
As the depressing moment carried
Down went the sun
But a new hope arose
A new era had begun
