Lobster Men
The lobster man of long ago
They worked so hard to keep
Their homes their young ones fed
And clothed for the year.

~ * ~ * ~
From dawn till dusk and dusk till Dawn
They hauled their pots away
Callused hands from pulling ropes
And Wet through from the Spray.
~ * ~ * ~
Danger lurked where ere they went
It followed night and day
One careless step one careless loop
And with your life you will pay.
~ * ~ * ~
There is many a lonely white cross
On the cliff top to be seen
Another sad reminder
Of a loved one lost at sea.
~ * ~ * ~
So rest in peace those brave young man
Who risked their lives this way
May they boldly sail through heavens gate

Atop a crested wave. (Amen)
